How long does your engagement ring take to make

The real lead times, unvarnished. So you arrive on time.

The question always comes late. Someone has a date in mind — a proposal on vacation, an anniversary, Christmas — and then realizes they have no idea how much time they need.

This guide exists so that doesn't happen to you. Here are the real production lead times at BRAVORA, with a breakdown of each phase, so you can plan it with peace of mind.

The general rule: count backward from your target date. A standard solitaire needs 3–4 weeks. A complex custom design can take up to 5–6 weeks. If you have a fixed date, write to us before that window closes.

Lead times by ring type

Not all rings take the same amount of time. The main factor is not the price — it's the complexity of the design and whether you need special stones. These are the real ranges at BRAVORA:

Ring type Estimated lead time Example
Catalog solitaire 3–4 weeks GAIA, HERA, CLEO with standard stone
Solitaire with special stone 4–5 weeks Any style with a natural diamond or out-of-catalog moissanite
Simple custom design 4–5 weeks Solitaire with engraving, minor setting modification
Complex custom design 5–6 weeks Design from scratch, full pavé, toi-et-moi, marquise with special gallery

Note: these lead times start from the confirmation of the quote and payment of the first installment, not from initial contact.

The production phases, explained

Understanding what happens at each phase helps you anticipate the real timeline. We don't mass-produce or pull rings off a shelf. Every piece goes through this process:

Phase 1 — Design and consultation (1–3 days)

We receive your form, review the details, select stone options, and prepare the quote. We respond within 24–48 hours. If you need adjustments or have questions, we resolve them on a video call.

Phase 2 — 3D modeling (3–5 days)

Once the order is confirmed, our team creates the digital 3D model. We send you renders so you can see it before it's made. If something doesn't look right, we adjust it here — it's the least costly moment to make changes.

Phase 3 — Stone selection (2–4 days)

We manually select your diamond, moissanite, or chosen stone. We review the IGI or GIA certificate, the visual quality, and whether it matches what you requested. We don't buy in bulk — we choose each stone one by one.

If the stone comes from outside our stock (for example, a special natural diamond), this step can take an extra week.

Phase 4 — Casting and assembly (5–8 days)

The ring is cast from scratch using the approved 3D model. We don't use templates or recycled molds. The setting is worked, polished, and assembled with the stone in the workshop. At this stage there's no going back without remaking the piece.

Phase 5 — Quality control (1–2 days)

Full review: weight, measurements, finish, stone security, correspondence with the approved design. If anything doesn't pass inspection, it goes back to the workshop. If it passes, it goes straight to packaging.

Phase 6 — Shipping (24–48 hours)

We ship via FedEx with insurance and real-time tracking. The transit time is 24–48 hours from when it leaves the workshop. We send you the tracking number before it arrives.

When do I need to order my ring?

This is the practical question we get most often. Here's the quick guide:

If you have a specific date (proposal, trip, anniversary)

Count 6 weeks back from that date. That gives you margin for the full process plus one week of buffer in case of any unforeseen issues.

Example: proposal on February 14 → write to us before January 3.

If you don't have a date, but want to be ready

The best time to start is now. The design and consultation process commits nothing — you can pause it if your plans change. But if you wait, the calendar fills up.

Peak seasons with higher workload

  • November–January — Christmas and New Year proposals. Lead times stretch.
  • February — Valentine's Day. High demand, less margin.
  • May–June — Summer weddings. Wedding band + ring season.

During these periods we recommend adding 1–2 extra weeks to the estimate.

Do you have a date in mind? Share it with us on the form and we'll confirm whether we can make it comfortably.

What can extend the timeline

Being honest about unexpected situations is part of our commitment. These are the real scenarios that can add days to the process:

  • Design changes after approving the 3D. If you requested something and then want to change it, the process goes back to the modeling phase. There's no additional cost if the change is minor, but it does add 3–5 days.
  • Special or hard-to-source stone. Natural diamonds with very specific characteristics (D color, VVS1 clarity, special cut) can take longer to arrive. We'll let you know before you confirm.
  • Incorrect ring size. If we're not certain of your size, we'd rather make it slightly larger and adjust at delivery. If it needs modification after delivery, unlimited resizing is included in the price for the first year.
  • Peak season. In November, February, and May–June the workshop handles higher volume. Add 1–2 weeks to the standard estimate.

Shipping: what happens after production

Once the ring passes the final quality control, it's packaged in our signature box and ships within 24–48 hours via FedEx Express with:

  • Full transit insurance
  • Real-time tracking
  • Recipient signature required

We deliver throughout mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands. For international shipments, please ask us.

You'll receive the tracking number by email at the time of shipment. If at any point you want to know how your order is progressing, reply to the confirmation email — we review it directly.

Frequently asked questions about lead times

How long does a custom engagement ring take to make?

Between 3 and 6 weeks from order confirmation, depending on design complexity. A standard solitaire: 3–4 weeks. A complex custom design: 5–6 weeks. During peak seasons (Christmas, Valentine's Day) add 1–2 weeks of buffer.

Can I see how my ring will look before it's made?

Yes. Before production we send you 3D renders of the exact design for your approval. If anything isn't right, we correct it at that stage at no additional cost. Production only begins with your approval.

What if I need the ring in less than 3 weeks?

Write to us and explain your situation. For urgent cases we do our best to expedite the process, though it's not always feasible without compromising quality. It's better to tell us upfront so we can give you an honest answer.

Do the lead times include shipping?

No. Production lead times (3–6 weeks) do not include shipping. Shipping adds an additional 24–48 hours via FedEx Express once the ring leaves the workshop.

Can I make changes after confirming the order?

It depends on which phase the ring is in. Before approving the 3D: yes, no problem. After the 3D is approved but before casting: possible with a small delay. Once cast: not possible without remaking the piece. That's why we review the design with you before each step.

Do you have a date?

Tell us when you need your ring and we'll confirm whether we can make it in time. We'd rather tell you the truth now than disappoint you later.
